A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser. This page lists every one Tavern Escapes uses, what it does, and how long it lasts.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Cookies we have to use
These make the site work. Without them you could not sign in, stay signed in, or buy anything, so they are set without asking — which the rules allow, because the site cannot function without them.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
tavern-escapes-session |
Tavern Escapes | Keeps you signed in and remembers your basket between pages. | 2 hours |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Tavern Escapes | Stops other websites submitting forms as you. | 2 hours |
te_consent |
Tavern Escapes | Remembers your cookie choices so we stop asking. | 6 months |
Cookies we ask about first
None of these are set unless you accept them.
Analytics tells us which rooms people look at and where they give up, so we know what to build next. It is counting, not watching: we do not use it to identify you.
Marketing lets us see whether an advert actually led to a purchase, and show our rooms to people like you elsewhere.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells us which pages people leave from. | 2 years |
_fbp |
Meta | Tells us whether an advert led to a purchase. | 3 months |
Saying no
Rejecting the optional categories changes nothing about the site — every room, every feature, exactly the same. We would rather have honest numbers from people who agreed than inflated ones from people who did not.
Your choice is remembered for six months, then we ask again.
Your browser can block them too
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and aboutcookies.org explains how for each one. Blocking the essential cookies will stop you being able to sign in.
Questions
Email hello@tavernescapes.com. How we handle personal data generally is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Your cookie choice, and our record of it
When you answer the cookie panel we do two things. Your choice is saved in your browser, so the site knows what to do on your next page. We also keep our own record of the decision, because the law asks us to be able to show that you agreed rather than simply assert it.
That record holds the date and time, what you allowed, how you answered, which version of this wording you were shown, your IP address, and your browser's description of itself. It does not hold your name unless you were signed in.
Changing your mind adds a new record rather than replacing the old one, so the history stays honest about what was agreed and when it was withdrawn. Records are deleted automatically once they are no longer useful as evidence — two years by default.
You can change your answer whenever you like using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
